Zero domain authority
The website launched at DA 1. Competing for investor and startup keywords in the UAE meant going up against highly authoritative global and regional platforms from day one.
A brand-new investment platform launched with a domain authority of 1, no backlinks and no paid history. Six months of coordinated SEO, Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads and social media delivered 30,500 app installs, 160 investor leads a month, and a citation in Google's AI Overviews.
Background
A startup investment and angel investor platform launched with ambitious goals: connect startups with private investors across the Gulf Cooperation Council. The platform targeted founders seeking seed funding, and high-net-worth individuals looking for curated investment opportunities across MENA and beyond.
They came to us with zero organic presence, no paid advertising history, and a brand-new domain. The brief was clear — build visibility, drive app installs, and grow registrations, all within six months, across both organic and paid channels.
That meant deploying the full stack of services at once rather than in sequence: SEO, Google App Campaigns, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads and social media management, each carrying a different part of the funnel.
The challenge
The GCC startup and FinTech ecosystem is already dominated by established names — AngelList, Wamda, MAGNiTT and a dense field of regional accelerators. Breaking through as a new entrant meant solving several compounding problems at the same time.
The website launched at DA 1. Competing for investor and startup keywords in the UAE meant going up against highly authoritative global and regional platforms from day one.
High-intent terms like "angel investors in Dubai", "startup seed funding UAE" and "private investors online" all ranked beyond position 100 at launch — effectively invisible to the target audience.
This was not a standard lead-gen campaign. It had to optimise for two distinct actions at once — mobile app installs and platform registrations — each needing its own funnel and tracking setup.
The platform served startup founders and accredited investors — two very different audiences with different channels, messages and buying journeys. LinkedIn, Meta and Google each needed a separate creative strategy.
No PR mentions, no backlinks, no social proof at launch. Building trust signals fast enough to convert cold audiences was a constraint on every single channel.
As a startup, the client needed every dirham to stretch further than the competition's. Cost-per-install and cost-per-registration benchmarks had to be beaten through disciplined bidding and creative testing.
No single channel could carry this on its own. Organic authority was too slow to hit a six-month install target, and paid alone would never build the trust signals a cold FinTech audience needs before handing over money. The two had to be run as one programme, feeding each other.
The strategy
We designed a phased, channel-coordinated strategy where organic and paid work reinforced each other. SEO built long-term authority and trust; paid channels drove immediate, measurable installs and registrations.
We opened with a full technical audit — fixing crawlability, site speed, structured data and schema markup for entity recognition — then built a keyword map covering GCC investor and startup queries. Content clusters around "angel investing in UAE", "startup funding GCC" and "alternative investment platforms" established topical authority quickly, and set up the 65.4K impressions and +90 position jumps that landed later in the campaign.
From near zero, we built the backlink profile to 450+ links across 123 referring domains in six months. Outreach targeted finance, startup and tech publications across MENA and globally, while press releases through international newswires earned editorial placements that drove referral traffic and domain authority together. DA climbed from 1 to 7.
UAC ran across Search, Display, YouTube and the Play Store to drive installs at scale. Disciplined bidding, creative rotation and audience layering delivered 30,500 installs at a ₹1.01 average CPC from 3.16M impressions and 341K clicks. A separate registration-optimised campaign generated 30 registration completions at ₹162.67 per conversion from 18,422 impressions.
LinkedIn carried the B2B half of the audience — angel investors, VCs and HNWIs across the Gulf. Native Lead Gen Form campaigns targeted by job title (Investor, Founder, C-Suite), industry (FinTech, Venture Capital) and geography (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain), producing 160 qualified leads a month from 108K+ reach and 414K+ impressions.
Meta campaigns across Facebook and Instagram targeted startup founders and entrepreneurial audiences in the GCC and South Asia with app-install and awareness objectives. Social media management built a consistent brand presence and trust signals that fed retargeting audiences and pulled cost-per-install down over time. A featured citation in Google's AI Overviews came as an earned benefit of the combined SEO and content work.
The results
Search impressions went from near zero to roughly 1,500 a day by month six, totalling 65,400 impressions and 984 organic clicks in the Google Search Console window. Average ranking position improved from 28.5 to 10.8 — a jump of 17.7 places — with multiple keywords moving from beyond position 100 into the top 10–15 of the UAE SERP.
On the paid side, Google App Campaigns produced 30,500 installs at a ₹1.01 average CPC, while LinkedIn delivered 160 qualified investor and founder leads a month. GA4 recorded 14K new users and 436K events across the February–July window.
The clearest signal that the two halves were working together: the client's content earned a citation in Google's AI Overviews for competitive investment-platform queries — a direct outcome of topical authority and structured content, not something you can buy.

Key takeaways
SEO built the authority that pulled paid CPCs down over time, and paid channels validated the keyword intent that shaped the content clusters. Neither would have performed like this in isolation.
LinkedIn for HNWIs and investors. Google UAC for install volume. Meta for founder awareness. Each channel did one job well instead of every job poorly.
450+ backlinks in six months is a fast ramp for a startup domain — and it held up because the placements were editorial rather than spam. That quality is what drove both the DA jump and the AI citation.
Schema markup and content structured for AI readability produced the Google AI Overview appearance — an increasingly valuable visibility channel that most competitors in this category are still ignoring.
Whether you're launching from zero or scaling an existing platform, Crezeal builds the strategy, content and campaigns that compound.
