Zero domain authority
The website launched with a DA of 1. Competing for investor- and startup-related keywords in the UAE meant going up against highly authoritative global and regional platforms from day one.
Background
Startup investment platform · UAE / GCC. A startup investment and angel investor platform launched with ambitious goals: connect startups with private investors across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. The platform targeted founders seeking seed funding and high-net-worth individuals looking for curated investment opportunities in MENA and beyond.
They approached us with zero organic presence, no paid advertising history, and a brand-new domain. The brief was clear: build visibility, drive app installs, and grow registrations — all within six months, across both organic and paid channels.
The services deployed were comprehensive: SEO, Google Ads (UAC), Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads and Social Media Management.
The challenge
The GCC FinTech and startup ecosystem is dominated by established names — AngelList, Wamda, MAGNiTT, and regional accelerators. Breaking through as a new entrant required solving several compounding problems simultaneously.
The website launched with a DA of 1. Competing for investor- and startup-related keywords in the UAE meant going up against highly authoritative global and regional platforms from day one.
High-intent keywords like "angel investors in Dubai", "startup seed funding UAE" and "private investors online" all ranked beyond position 100 at launch — effectively invisible to the target audience.
Unlike a typical lead-gen campaign, this project required optimising for two distinct actions simultaneously: mobile app installs and platform registrations — each needing its own funnel and tracking setup.
The platform served both startup founders (B2C) and accredited investors and VCs (B2B) — two very different audiences with different channels, messages and buying journeys. LinkedIn, Meta and Google all needed separate creative strategies.
With no PR mentions, no backlinks and no social proof at launch, building trust signals fast enough to convert cold audiences was a core constraint across every channel.
As a startup, the client needed every rupee and dirham to stretch further than the competition. Cost-per-install and cost-per-registration benchmarks had to be beaten with disciplined bidding and creative testing.
The strategy
We designed a phased, channel-coordinated strategy where organic and paid efforts reinforced each other. SEO built long-term authority and trust; paid channels drove immediate, measurable installs and registrations.
We started with a thorough technical audit — fixing crawlability, site speed, structured data and schema markup for entity recognition. A full keyword map targeting GCC investor and startup queries was built. Content clusters were created around themes like "angel investing in UAE", "startup funding GCC" and "alternative investment platforms" to build topical authority fast. This set the stage for the 65.4K impressions and +90 position jumps seen later in the campaign.
From near-zero, we built a backlink profile to 450+ links across 123 referring domains within six months. Outreach targeted finance, startup and tech publications across MENA and globally. Press releases via international newswires landed editorial placements that drove both referral traffic and domain authority. The result: DA climbed from 1 to 7, and referral traffic from premium sources began flowing in.
We ran Google App Campaigns across Search, Display, YouTube and the Play Store to drive app installs at scale. With disciplined bidding, creative rotation and audience layering, the campaign delivered 30,500 installs at ₹1.01 average CPC from 3.16M impressions and 341K clicks. A separate registration-optimised campaign generated 30 registration completions at ₹162.67 per conversion from 18,422 impressions.
LinkedIn was the primary channel for reaching angel investors, VCs and HNWIs in the GCC. We ran native Lead Gen Form campaigns targeting by job title (Investor, Founder, C-Suite), industry (FinTech, Venture Capital) and geography (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain). The result: 160 qualified leads per month, 108K+ reach and 414K+ impressions — with strong cost efficiency benchmarks for a B2B FinTech audience.
Meta campaigns (Facebook and Instagram) targeted startup founders and entrepreneurial audiences across the GCC and South Asia with app-install and awareness objectives. SMM built consistent brand presence and trust signals across platforms, supporting retargeting audiences and reducing cost-per-install over time. AI citation visibility — including a featured snippet on Google's AI Overviews — became an earned benefit of the combined SEO and content strategy.
The results
Across all five channels, the campaign delivered measurable growth in every key metric. Search impressions climbed from near-zero to roughly 1,500 a day by month six, while paid channels scaled installs to 30,500 at a ₹1.01 average CPC.
Organic rankings matured in parallel: average position improved from 28.5 to 10.8, multiple keywords jumped from beyond position 100 into the top 10–15 of the UAE SERP, and the backlink profile went from effectively nothing to 450+ links across 123 referring domains.

Key takeaways
SEO built authority and reduced paid CPCs over time. Paid channels validated keyword intent that informed content clusters. Neither worked as well in isolation.
LinkedIn for HNWIs and investors. Google UAC for app-install volume. Meta for founder awareness. Each channel did one job well rather than everything poorly.
450+ backlinks in six months is a fast backlink ramp for a startup domain. Quality editorial placements — not spam — drove the DA jump and AI citation appearances.
Schema markup and content structure designed for AI readability led to the Google AI Overview appearance — an increasingly valuable visibility channel that competitors are still ignoring.
Whether you're launching from zero or scaling an existing platform, Crezeal builds the strategy, content and campaigns that compound.
