Combining a favourite diet with a clean way to cook, this book brings delicious keto recipes to an appliance that seems like it was made specifically for it.
If there’s truth in advertising, then the name of this cookbook says it all. Carolina Cartier’s recipes are quick and easy. What’s left out of the title is just how good they taste too.
An air fryer can be a versatile kitchen tool when used properly. Cartier’s trick is to whip up amazing sauces and seasonings to add to the food. They’re separate recipes but when following her advice, the results are outstanding, particularly for food prepared so fast.
Like Cartier’s recipes, the book is a simple design with photographs used sparingly. The text is predominantly large with lots of white space making it so easy to use in the kitchen. Each section is colour coded for reference, and recipes also include nutritional information, the yield, prep time, and cooking time.
The 100 keto-friendly recipes are sorted by dish type: breakfast, side dishes, star ingredient, desserts, doughs, sauces and seasoning, etc, with an introduction to the Keto diet and some air fryer basics included.
For fast, healthy meals with minimal cleaning, the Quick & Easy Air Fryer Cookbook is one to consider and keep within easy reach.
ADOBO CHICKEN QUARTERS (PAGE 58) WITH ADOBO SEASONING (PAGE 153)
This is not adobo. The national Filipino dish looks and tastes nothing like this dish but, oh my, does it make me patriotic for the Philippines! With the seasoning ready in four minutes and the chicken prepped in under 10 minutes, there is no reason not to make this every week. The seasoning is a mix of common spices, while the chicken is prepped with only two other ingredients. Coat and fry. It’s that simple but it leaves a taste that will make you crave more. It’s perfect for the Keto diet and anyone who needs more protein in their diet.
LEMON DILL SALMON (PAGE 94) WITH LEMON DILL SAUCE (PAGE 143)
Mumma always said to keep my empty jars and this is why. If you’re too lazy to whisk the ingredients, pour it all into a jar and shake it like a cocktail. So simple and the sauce is done in five minutes, ready to store in the fridge to use with either fish or chicken. The salmon is cooked separately, coated in its own few ingredients, then the sauce is added before serving. Utterly delicious and completely done in about 15 minutes. Fast food has never been this healthy! I served mine with some mashed potatoes and a ranch salad to match the Lemon Dill Sauce, but it would go just as well with hot chips or any other side dish you like.
